🌸 A Journey of Nine Years: Stories, Family, and the Gift of Support
Looking back on nearly nine years of staying connected to the stories I love, I realize that this journey was never a solitary one. Behind every late night, every moment of doubt, and every quiet hour spent immersed in storytelling, there has always been a steady and powerful source of support — my family ❤️.
My husband, my son, and even a former boss at one point all became pillars that allowed me to continue pursuing what mattered to me. What began as a small personal interest during my university years slowly grew into something deeply woven into my life, and it was their encouragement that helped transform it from a fragile passion into a lasting journey 🌱.
💍 Meeting My Husband: A Simple Beginning
My husband is, at heart, a simple and grounded person. We first crossed paths during university. At the time, we weren’t particularly close — he was my senior, and after graduation, life carried us in different directions.
Years later, fate quietly brought us back together ✨. We met again at my workplace. He was my boss’s best friend and often visited the office. What initially felt like coincidence slowly revealed itself to be something more — he was coming because he wanted to see me.
Our first date was simple. We went out for lunch, and that ordinary meal became the beginning of our story 🍽️. Our relationship grew through everyday moments — conversations, laughter, and shared routines. Even then, one thing stood out clearly: his respect for my interests and his willingness to support them 💖.
📚 Walking the Path Together
The stories I loved had already become an important part of my life by then. They were a space where emotion, imagination, and connection came together 🌏📖.
Along the way, my husband naturally became part of this journey. Being Chinese-educated, he often helped me understand deeper meanings, cultural references, or subtle expressions when I felt uncertain. Sometimes it was a small explanation, sometimes just a conversation that helped clarify my thoughts 💡.
Slowly, what started as something personal became something shared 🤝.
We dated for five years, and throughout that time, his encouragement never wavered. When we eventually decided to marry, I knew I wasn’t just choosing a life partner — I was choosing someone who believed in me and what I cared about 💍.
🏡 Marriage, Support, and Everyday Acts of Love
After marriage, his support only deepened. He quietly took on household responsibilities and often encouraged me to use my free time for the things I loved.
It wasn’t about grand gestures. It was about what those actions represented — trust, understanding, and a belief that my interests mattered 💞.
At one point, even my boss recognized this dedication and offered flexibility so I could balance work and personal interests. That chapter eventually came to an end when circumstances forced the company to close — a turning point I reflected on in my article When Passion Meets Reality: My Health, Values, and Life After a Long Chapter Ended .
Even during that difficult period, my husband reminded me that this journey was never about platforms or results — it was about love for the stories and the connections they created 🌟.
👶 Motherhood and Continuing the Dream
When our son was born, life shifted completely. Motherhood brought joy, exhaustion, and a new rhythm to my days 💕.
Many might expect passions to be set aside at that stage, but once again, my husband stepped in. He continued managing daily responsibilities so I could still hold space for the things that mattered to me.
There were moments when I worked quietly while holding my baby — moments that made me realize how deeply fortunate I was 🤍.
As my son grew, he became part of this journey in his own way. Sometimes he would sit beside me, curious about what I was doing 👀📖. Other times, he offered simple encouragement — a hug, a smile, or a playful question 🧸.
Those small moments became some of my most treasured memories.
🙏 Gratitude and Reflection
Nine years is long enough to experience doubt, exhaustion, and moments where passion feels fragile.
Each time uncertainty appeared, my family carried me through it — through quiet support, patience, and understanding 💫.
I am deeply grateful for my husband, whose simplicity hides great strength. I am grateful for my son, who reminds me why stories matter. And I am grateful for every person who supported me along the way ❤️.
🌈 Looking Ahead
As I move forward, I carry these lessons with me. This journey was never just about stories — it was about relationships. About family. About the people who make it possible to keep going 🌉.
For now, I am taking a temporary pause due to my health. I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism 🩺, and while this means stepping back, it doesn’t mean letting go.
I will return when I am ready — stronger, steadier, and grateful for every chapter that came before 💪✨.
Until then, I hold close the family who made this journey possible and whose support gives me the courage to believe in coming back.
